Great write up with awesome pics. I am getting ready to attempt this on my 98 camaro. Got a couple questions. What are the dimentions on your homemade dolly and jack stands? Looks like the stands are bout a foot square? Also, do you know of good place to get a rebuild kit for the 3.8? My bottom end gave out I think it spun a bearing. Was knocking and then binded up. Will barely turn over and wont fire up.

Thanks,

The dolly is 24 x 32. Stands are 10 x 10 x 16. I used sealed power internals. You can get them at Napa and probably other parts houses and shops. I got most of my stuff from the local performance engine shop. They ordered it for me and it came in the next day or 2.

Very nice. I'm glad this write-up is still getting good use.

I've been there breaking into the block swapping pistons and such. Good luck my friend.
