![]() When I first purchased my Camaro the speakers were blown, So I swapped them out with some cheap aftermarket speakers doors & rear. They sound like crap. I went to the junk yard today pulled the factory speakers out & installed them a little while ago. WOW they sound so much better than aftermarket. I'm guessing that because the aftermarket speakers weren't fully closed off the sound would escape.

![]() If your aftermarket speakers were too small and not isolating the front and rear waves of the speaker, that can certainly explain your crappy sound. Also, some of our speaker systems operate at a 2 ohm load. If the ones you installed were 4 ohm (or higher due to their lack of quality), that will significantly reduce the amount of power you are feeding them.

![]() if the are 4ohm or 8 instead of two that is why. if you have monsoon, the speakers in it are honestly better than about anything walmart carries. I know, I did the same thing on the camaro, and the magnet on the back of the walmart speakers was child's play next to my monsoon speakers.
