it does depend on the whole setup i suppose. I know my borla plus no cat had a lot more rasp when i shifted gears than it does now with the HF cat. only when my exhaust is cold i do hear it. but i could just be picky. Of course TD has been proven to cut more rasp out than anything else.

If you have someone build you a Y pipe with a flow master merge it will significantly decrease rasp. A lot of the guys on the ls forums do this.

The y pipe is where a lot of the rasp comes from, header design plays a role too. Its all about the way the pressure pulses hit eachother. Rasp on ls cars with a y pipe gets a lot worse with long tubes and no cats.
