Are you supposed to have 11 at idle? Looks like you're still good for a while!
I would suppose that too high of oil psi would reduce gas mileage at least. If you're always pouring oil out the PRV, that's a waste of energy. I'm sure my cavalier oil psi was too high! It stayed on 60 till it warmed up and then rarely went below 20... haha

I just rebuilt the 3.0 6G72 V6 in my Mom's van, so progress on the Shortstar has been on hiatus for the past 3 weeks. Just a re-ring kit, and I'm anxious to see what the oil pressure will be. Should have it running today. (fingers crossed)

Well the min at idle is 10. So I'm above. Good oil pressure at cruise and WOT so all is well with Lucas and VR1 60W racing oil LOL

That's great news! Yeah. Those old v660s seemed to really hold oil pressure!

I love this car but it's in such TERRIBLE shape. The heater smells musty and the seats are worn and stained and it has the early style console. The windshield is cracked into two pieces, paint's bad but I don't even care about that. The shifter is f*#ked up so it doesn't like to go into 3rd too well. I can't find a shifter ANYWHERE that is actually FOR the T5. When I read the fine print, it's always for the t56. I've even tried the local jys but no luck yet

Sometimes it feels like such an uphill battle. If they were more affordable, I would just start with a better F-Body altogether! I'd still put this Shortstar in it though. It just needs SO MUCH WORK. HaHa

I don't mean to whine. I must persevere and put this engine and that posi with 4.10 gears!
Still having trouble getting back to the Shortstar... problems with that 6G72!

I hope to be making progress and new posts pretty soon here...I hope!

Words of encouragement are welcome here... haha thanks!

AC and vent cleaner for the musty smell. It'll kill the mold too.

Barbasol shaving cream (no joke) for the upholstery.

Also just look specifically for the T5 equipped fbodies. A yard somewhere will have one, you probably just have to dig for it as it's becoming obscure due to the t56s popularity.
