I've heard people say it holds up well. I'm sure its about how much prep you put into it of course. its not meant to be a permanent finish so it wont last forever. Chrome would be my first concern. this stuff clings so maybe it will be fine but there is hardly anything on a chrome surface for the material to grab so I'm unsure about that. Plasti dip is a good choice if you don't want a permanent finish.

The thing with plasti dip is the more you lay it down, the more durable it is but also the easier it is to peel when you want to remove it. I've been using plasti dip for about 2 years now, mostly on wheels. The wheels on my 99 car are dipped and I used one can per wheel, and the last time I dipped them was last May when I had some tires put on. You don't need to do anything special for prep, and good cleaned with soapy water (dish soap) and your good. You can buy cans from any hardware store.
