Looks like a head bolt. Casting flaw. Anything other than a head bolt I'd say you're fine using it. If it is indeed a head bolt, I'd replace it.

Though that could happen if air tools or a breaker bar with the incorrect Allen bit was used.

It was a head bolt. Brand new! It had to be a casting flaw...either way I replaced the set. But I got the heads bolted down over the weekend.
30 lb-ft +60 +60 +80
I wasn't looking forward to that...

After paying $24.00 for 2 cam bearing bolts, I got the cams installed. Those cam alignment tools I bought at the beginning of this thread really paid off! It was a cinch to install the cams, secondary chains, and even set the base timing. I indexed the crank before installing the heads and made a TDC mark on the oil pump/crank sprocket. And everything lined right up!
