![]() If you are having problems with your headlight motors on your firebird where they both will not go up or down this is a sign of the control module going bad. Early signs will be when you turn the headlights on and the do come up and when you go to turn them off they will not go down. A way to test this is to manually put the headlights in closed position with the light switch in the off position, then disconect the battery, let it sit for a few minutes. Then reconnect battery, if they come up then you have a bad module. the module is located under the hood on the driver side and sits on the duct for the air cleaner.
![]() My car doesnt have the factory air cleaner but this is a general area Just simply disconnect the old module and remove the clips that hold it in, then replace with new. ![]() these can sometimes be found on ebay, prices vary.

![]() Old thread but current problem. Could anyone possibly measure the ohms between A and B, Then C and D on the 4-pin connector of a FAULTY module?
I currently have a problem - one of the headlight motors won't engage (C and D) but if I connect it to the other connector (A-B) then it works. But when I measured the module, no apparent fault was evident - ordering a new one from the states seems like a long shot at the moment. Thanks. |

![]() Got my problems sorted out - was real simple at the end. Turned out the fuse to the left side headlight motor inside the module had melted.
![]() The fuse is made out of solder it seems. Consulted an electrician, he said a fine copper fibre would do as replacement, and for now, systems are operational again ![]() |
