in order to delete the egr without causing an SES light the codes must be tuned out. Like me, you have a 96 PCM. these are useless for tuning. they cannot be tuned.

1) you will need to acquire a 97 PCM of the same motor and trans f-body as yours. 97 because its the only year that has the same throttle setup as our 96. 98+ have electronic throttle called "Fly by wire"

2)you will need to tune the codes out. this can be done by mail order tunes or by someone that has hp tuners etc.

3)you will need block off plates to plug the holes left by removing the EGR. I will also note that the dipstick will need to be secured as it is mounted on the EGR.

This can easily reach $250 unless you can find deals on PCM's and/or a tune.

yeah those EGR's are pricey. I looked up the gm numbers for the 2 versions used on that bottom hose+bracket and GMPD didn't show either as a valid part number. maybe you can do some searching. you might try a salvage yard also.

these numbers are for the bracket that bolts to the block and the bottom hose (EGR-HEADER) they are one piece.

95-99 gm # 24504900
00-02 gm # 24508446

95-99 gm # 24504900 I bought this one after I put headers on my car. I don't remember that being all that expensive either.

Block off plates aren't terribly hard to make. If you dont mind the SES or already have it on, its simple to do, I made my own and could probably make you some.
