Default Prothane transmission mount for 3.4L V6

Let me save you the time. Despite the Prothane site claiming that part number 7-1604 fits the 3.4L V6, they are wrong. To be specific I have the M49 manual transmission. It does not align with the crossmember properly.
Here is the Prothane site with INCORRECT information:
http://v6f-body.com/showthread.php?t=5632

Here's my original post finding out the hard way:
http://prothane.com/polyurethane-mot...ission-mounts/

Here's how to install a new stock mount:
http://www.camarozone.com/forum/f20/...-02-v6-110996/

Apparently, the crossmember is the wrong shape. A crossmember can be taken from some of the v8's it seems.

Thanks for the info. This probably goes for 3.8 m49s as well.

Or you can just notch the hole in your existing cross member.. I did it and it worked fine.

So you basically just drilled a wider hole in the cross member to accommodate for the forward offset of the lower bolt?

I did the same thing all you have to do is get a metal bit and drill off some of the metal until it fits. Mine has some vibration around 50 and 70 but nothing serious and I don't eat through these like I did the stock tranny mou nts

If I get a junkyard crossmember, which cars do I look for? Is it only automatoc LT1s or will the manual trans be the same crossmember?
