I know the exhaust are the longer ones, I'm just not sure how to tell which lifters are for exhaust and which are intake

They match up with the intake/exhaust rockers and valves for each cylinder

Valve position, also the exhaust valve seals may be made of a different material. You should be able to tell by the position of the ports. Can you snap some pics of the heads?
